Visiting in town for business and wanting to try local pizza I ordered delivery from Tony's Pizza and Pasta to my hotel room. I ordered loaded fries and a personal meat lovers pizza. The fries were disgusting. The fries tasted like they were fried in old oil and had a horrible after taste. I only ate a few and literally threw the rest away. The pizza was also horrible. The meat on the pizza was low quality and salty but the sausage on the pizza was especially gross. The pizza had hardly any sauce and the overall had little flavor. I would not recommend Tony's Pizza and Pasta.

I stopped by this place last night because I had a craving that only a single slice of cheese pizza could satisfy (and, well, because I drove right past it). On that level, it worked just fine. It was almost closing time, or at least I figured as much because the two employees were cleaning the tables and there was nobody else in the place. But they didn't seem annoyed that I was there so thats good I guess. I ordered my slice and it was dutifully placed in the oven to heat up. The guy didn't let it in there for very long (basically just long enough for me to pay for it), but it was warm enough, and the crust was just thick enough to hold the pizza upright but be a little crispy-crunchy at the same time. Threw a little garlic and pepper flakes on it and I was set. I know it seems weird to review a place based on one slice of pizza, but for my money that is the hardest thing to do well, because EVERYBODY does it. To stand out, well, thats something. This was 'pretty good'. As in, I would go back, but will not go out of my way to go back (especially when Palermo's is closer). But, if you are shutout at Blue Fin and want to settle for the bronze medal meal, this is the place!

I'll first amdit that I'm not from the area. I grew up in north NJ near NYC so I know pizza. I know how it should be made, how it should taste, the thickness it should be, how the sauce and the cheese need to be, etc. It's not as simple as teh rest of the county seems to think....dough, cheese, red sauce, done! NO! I'm sick of bad pizza. I was so spoiled from where I came from and yes I'm ranting but I'm allowed to. People should know how pizza should taste so they know whether or not what theyre eating is real pizza or not. That said, I've changed the stars for this place from 3 to 4..back to 3...like 6x already because I cant decide. Out of all of the places in this area, I would say that Tony's is #1. Franks (by Giant, in Bluebell/East Norriton) is really good too but both of these places are hit or miss. Philly does a lot of things well, and pizza is not one of them. That said, Tony's pizza is a bit wet and the thickness is inconsistent; the middle is way thin (which is good, but the sauce is too wet so it doesnt hold up well), while the ends are thicker, so the pizza's texture is off. The dough doesnt have the 'fire' taste that real pizza does but its good. The sauce is where my main issue is. I know sauce is 'wet' but this is watery. The flavor is good (just ok from what Im used to, but for Philly its really good). I have noticed that when you eat-in here the pizza is very good, even for me. I've taken out here hundreds of times over the 5 years I lived in the area and every time it tasted different. The last time I ate in....wow. Good..surprising how good it was. My advice for you is that if you want good pizza, this is the place. There's always a dinner crowd here so you knows its good. As for what everyone else says.. yeah sometimes its greasy, but its pizza and real pizza isnt this Cali crap. it has grease, like it should. but its not over greasy. the price is good. a pie can go for $12-$15 here and it's worth the price. Toppings are a lot though. If you want a pizza with a lot of topping go to Franks. If you go late they'll care less about how it tastes. When the owner makes the pizza it's spot on so go durring dinner hours. He's really friendly and always has something to say. And please..if you like cheese, and there's never enough on it, get the x-cheese here. its insane how much they put on. And if youre getting it by the slice then its deff. expensive. 4 slices and 2 fountain drinks can be more $ then a large pizza. As for everything else they have: the fries are bad, so are their wings. The meatball sandwhich is ok (nothing specail), the pizza steak is great and the reg steak is great too.

Walked in to Tony's on a Friday afternoon for lunch. One thing that caught me off guard was a nice lady (I never got her name) who provided us with menus and asked if we needed anything to drink as we walked in. I was not expecting that a server. Once we got settled and chose our drinks, we were ready to order. Looking at the menu, I realized they're more than just a pizza-and-wings spot. Believe it or not, I was in a pizza restaurant, but really didn't have a desire for pizza that day. I saw a crab cake sandwich with a side of crab fries on the menu and instantly knew what I wanted. My wife and son both ordered pizza. My son kept it simple with pepperoni and my wife ordered a margherita pizza. The crab cake was better than I expected. The crab fries were also good, but a little on the salty side. I tried the margherita pizza and it wasn't bad, but I wouldn't order it if given the choice. If you're looking for a crab cake sandwich/burger for under $13, I'd recommend Tony's.

We've recently moved to the area and Tony's is by far THE BEST around. The staff is always so polite, wonderful chef, terrific/caring owner and great delivery service. We've eaten just about everything on the menu and not once been disappointed. The quality of food is exceptional and the service is always prompt and pleasant. Would highly recommend to anyone. My family has ordered pizza from Tony's for YEARS. Most often the pizza is great and everyone is delighted. On Sunday we ordered a medium pizza with bacon and mushrooms. Instead of a delicious mouth watering pizza we received a dry, over done pizza. The crust was so dry it cracked when picked up. The bacon was burned to a crisp and the mushrooms were also burned.. Sorry Tony's but your pizza has been getting more hit or miss this past year. Very disappointed in the quality and at $22 we will probably find somewhere else to order from when in the pizza mood.
